Draft Placeholder policy for a pre-launch waitlist. Review with a qualified adviser before launch. This is not legal advice.

Privacy Policy

Last updated 3 June 2026

Who we are

Skimmr (“we”, “us”) is a pre-launch social-commerce analytics tool. This policy explains what information we collect when you join our waitlist or request a demo, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. For anything in this policy, contact us at hello@skimmr.net.

We act as the data controller for the personal data described here.

What we collect

While Skimmr is in pre-launch, we only collect what you give us:

  • Your email address.
  • Optional context you submit on the waitlist form, such as which platforms you sell on, an approximate revenue band, and your stated intent (founding member or demo request).
  • Basic technical data your browser sends (such as IP address and user agent) and any cookies strictly needed to run the site.

We do not yet connect to TikTok Shop, Instagram Shop, or any other commerce platform, and we do not collect order, payout, or customer data during the waitlist phase.

How we use it (lawful basis)

We use the information you provide to:

  • Contact you when access opens and to arrange demos, on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Understand demand and prioritise platforms and features, on the basis of our legitimate interest in building the product responsibly.
  • Operate and secure the website, on the basis of legitimate interest and, where required, legal obligation.

Sharing & processors

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the waitlist and email you (for example hosting and email delivery), under contracts that require them to protect it. Where a provider processes data outside the UK/EU, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep waitlist information until launch and for a reasonable period afterwards to onboard you, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. We then delete or anonymise it.

Your rights (UK GDPR / EU GDPR)

If you are in the UK or EU you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our use of your personal data, and to data portability and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@skimmr.net. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).

Cookies

The waitlist site uses only essential cookies needed to function. If we add analytics or marketing cookies before launch, we will update this policy and ask for consent where required.

Changes to this policy

This is a pre-launch draft and will change as the product takes shape. We will post the updated version here with a new “last updated” date.
